![]() ![]() I didn't realize how vague I had been on the invite, however - what most assumed would be a casual ride on the water followed by a quick lunch turned out to be a floating party, followed by a reception at a stunning garden venue complete with a DJ, dance floor, and amazing food and drink. Ahead of our rehearsal day, which took place on the floating gardens of Xochimilco, we let our guests know we'd be taking a boat ride followed by lunch (which, we did!). If the opportunity strikes, don't miss out on the chance to underpromise/overdeliver during your celebration. It helped me stay organized, and was a great way to compartmentalize wedding planning when necessary. I felt a little goofy while creating it, but if I could, I would go back in time and kiss myself for the moment I made a wedding-specific email address. We won’t make you wait for the details any longer – let’s get into it! We mean it – just wait until you see the ceremony space! Finally, the photographers behind Pinewood Weddings truly could not have done a dreamier job of capturing Julia and John’s wedding. And that includes their stunning venue, Proyecto Publico Prim ! While the space was gorgeous on its own, florals by Casa Delirio truly took things to the next level. Enter, Lucia of Eventose3 ! The CDMX-based wedding planner had the expert local knowledge the couple needed to bring their vision to life. ![]() The first thing the couples had to do was decide who would be tasked with planning their wedding. Between the amazing colors, architecture, food, and people – it was hard not to instantly fall in love! While the couple’s original wedding date was March 28th of 2020 (sound familiar to anyone?) they were able to bring their dream wedding to life two years later! We’ve chosen a beautiful and historic space to welcome our ecosystem and we can’t wait to see what comes out of two days of collaboration. After a year of international travel as an engaged couple, Julia and John had landed in their final (and favorite!) destination: Mexico City. Meridian is for the Stellar community to talk to each other, not for others to talk to the Stellar community. You’ll see this ethos reflected in the conference program, which we’ll share soon, and it’s also why we aren’t bringing in any sponsors or offering paid speaking positions. All of SDF will be in attendance, and many significant Stellar projects from around the world will be there, too.Ĭonsistent with SDF’s mandate, we’re structuring Meridian to be a level playing field for idea sharing. Think breakout sessions and hands-on workshops rather than a stream of presentations. ![]() We are going to emphasize discussion and interaction. Where are the greatest applications for Stellar in our financial present? What roles will Stellar have in our financial future? How are different countries approaching regulation and compliance? Where can Stellar make the most impact? What can we all do to make building on Stellar easier and more rewarding?Ĭonference structure will revolve around the principles of community-building, information exchange, and networking. Meridian is an opportunity to discuss big-picture questions around financial inclusion, efficiency, and innovation. That’s why we’re excited to announce the first SDF-sponsored conference, Stellar Meridian, which will be held on November 4th and 5th 2019 in Mexico City at the beautiful Proyecto Publico Prim. The success of the Stellar network relies on us all working together. Without developers, entrepreneurs, supporters, and anchors, we’re just an idea. ![]()
